Men's golf preview: Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational

Next on the Tee

After a second place finish in the first annual Ram Master Invitational, the Rams head to Erie, Colo. to compete in the third annual Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.  Redshirt freshman Jordan Wetsch looks to build off a stellar first-overall finish at the Ram Master Invitational, while the likes of Parker Edens and Kirby Pettitt also look to repeat their solid performances.  The tournament will begin with 36 holes of continuous play (foursomes) on Monday with a shotgun format start at 8:15 a.m. (MDT), and end with 18 holes on Tuesday in a staggered shotgun format at 8 a.m. (MDT).

 The Course

The tournament will take place at Colorado National Golf Club (CNGC) in Erie, which is located about 12 miles east of Boulder. The championship layout is a 7,741-yard, par-72 configuration, and the greens feature bent grass.

 The Field

The competition for the Rams will consist of: Air Force, Colorado, Denver, Gonzaga, Houston Baptist, Kansas, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Texas-Arlington, Texas State, Utah and Wyoming.

 Starting Lineup

The Rams starting lineup will be made up of Jordan Wetsch, Parker Edens, Kirby Pettitt, Cameron Harrell and Kory Harrell, with Dominic Kieffer playing as an individual.  The Rams will look for their first team victory of the year.
