DENVER, Colo. – Colorado State golfer Parker Edens closed play at the 113th annual Colorado Match Play Championship at Bear Creek Golf Club in west Denver on Friday, finishing in second in the event for the second consecutive season.

Edens, a native of Greeley, Colo., earned his way back into the finals on Thursday afternoon with a 1-up victory over Minkyu Jeon, but the senior-to-be came up short in Friday’s final, falling to David Oraee, 6 and 5.

Edens paced the Rams with an average of 72.34 in 2012-13, playing in all 35 rounds in 12 tournaments and carding 15 rounds of par or better. He recorded a pair of top-five finishes, tying for fourth at CSU’s own Ram Masters Invitational in September and notching a third-place tie at the Desert Shootout in March. He closed the Rams’ season by leading the squad with a 13th-place finish at the 2013 Mountain West Championship.
