April 30 - The menís golf team fired a second round score of 295 today in the Mountain West Conference Championship dropping them two spots into fourth place. The team has a two-round total of 584, six strokes off of the leader BYU.
Martin Laird held onto the top spot today. The senior carded a score of 73, bringing his total to 137 (-7). Nipping at Lairdís heels is teammate Nolan Martin. Martin played well today and finished with a score of 67, five strokes better than yesterday. His 36-hole total is 139 (-9). Martin is currently tied with UNLVís Ryan Moore for second place.
The Rams next best finisher was Nate Pettitt who finished the day with a score of 75, giving him a total of 154 which places him in 27th overall. Right behind Pettitt was James Kurtenbach who is one stroke back of Pettitt at 155. Kurtenbach carded a score of 80 today.
After todayís round sophomore Kevin McAlpine was disqualified.
