Next On The Tee
Colorado State is heading back to Arizona, where the Rams will be participating in the 11th Annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic. The Rams are coming off of a seventh place finish at the Desert Shootout after shooting a team score of 861 (+9).
Head Coach Christian Newton believes that a great two weeks of practice has his Rams prepared to go after a team vixctory.
“We had great preparation the past few weeks,” said Coach Newton. “There is no doubt that this event is important for us.”
Junior Parker Edens has emerged as the Rams most consistent golfer, as he will play for the first time since being named Mountain West Conference Golfer of the Week for the week of March 18-24. Edens won the honor by shooting a 210 (-3) over 54 holes, finishing in a tie for third at the Desert Shootout.
The University of Wyoming Cowboy Classic will be played at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale. The par 70, 7,133 yard course was selected among one of the Best Resort Courses in 2012, and Best Casino Courses in 2011 by Golfweek Magazine.
Colorado State (69) will be matched up against the 24-team field of Wyoming (170), Air Force (117), Gonzaga (139), Colorado (64), Old Dominion (128), Northern Colorado146), Weber State (189), UC-Santa Barbara (99), Nevada (118), Boise State (183), Santa Clara (138), Kansas State (115), UTEP (121), UC-Northridge, Utah State (185), Wichita State (63), Utah (140), Idaho (114), UC-Riverside (207), Hawaii (168), Tulsa (46) and St. Mary’s College (22).

The Starting Lineup
The Rams’ starting lineup will consist of Kirby Pettitt, Kory Harrell, Cameron Harrell, Dominic Kieffer and Parker Edens, with Brett Wilson playing as an individual. The Cowboy Classic is scheduled for 36 holes with a shotgun start for 8:30 a.m. MT time on Monday, followed by 18 holes on Tuesday.
