The CSU men's golf team is headed to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the 2011 Wyoming Cowboy Classic. Both days will begin with a 8:45 a.m. MT shotgun start. The field will play two rounds of 18 holes on Monday and one final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
The course
The 2011 Wyoming Cowboy Classic will be played on the North Course of Talking Stick Golf Club. The course is par 70 and stretches 7,133 yards. The Course was in the "Top 100 You Can Play" by Golf Magazine and ranked No. 1 in the state by Golfweek.
The field
The 20-team field, including four from the Mountain West, is made up of Wyoming, Air Force, Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Colorado State, UC-Davis, Gonzaga, Idaho,Kansas, Kansas State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Fransisco, UC-Santa Barbara, San Diego, Santa Clara, Utah, Utah State and Wichita State.
Rams lineup
Ryan Peterson, Zahkai Brown, Kirby Pettitt, Kory Harrell and Mike Sorenson will be swinging for the Rams this week in Scottsdale. Steve Sorenson will competing as an individual. Peterson is at No. 5 in the Moutain West Conference standings. Brown and Harrell are in the Mountain West Top 20. All three look to push forward in Scottsdale Monday.
