Laird Finishes Tied For Fourth, Team Tenth

The Colorado State menís golf team finished play at the 58th annual Western Intercollegiate earlier today. They were led by senior Martin Laird who finished tied for 4th place, just four shots off the lead.

Laird shot a 69 on a par-70 course in the final two rounds to finish with a 210 overall score. He led all golfers at the tournament in par-four scoring with a 3.9 average.

Senior Nolan Martin finished in a tie for 21st place firing a 217 overall putting him 11 shots off the lead. Rounding out the Ramsí lineup were James Kurtenbach who finished tied for 52nd, John Hayes who finished tied for 57th and Kevin McAlpine who had a strong finish to end up in 68th place.

University of Colorado golfer Kane Webber won the tournament shooting five under par in the final two rounds to finish two shots ahead of Long Beach Stateís Bret Lederer. Colorado also finished first as a team shooting an 852 in the three round tournament, two shots ahead of the University of Caifornia.

The Rams will be back in action April 1-3 when they head to Laredo, Texas for the Border Olympics.
