WAHIAWA, Oahu Ė The Colorado State menís golf team shot a one-over 289 in the second round of the John Burns Intercollegiate to end the day in a tie for 9th place with Texas A&M University. After shooting a five-under 67 in the first round, senior John Hayes moved into a tie for 8th carding a one-under 71.
Sophomore Derrick Whiting fired a one-under 71 to move into a tie at 14th place, while junior Kevin McAlpine improved one shot from his opening round with a 71 and a tie at 38th.
Also competing for the Rams were freshman Praneeth Perera and sophomore Aaron Weston. Both players sit in a tie for 97th place; Weston shot a four-over 76 and Perera fired a five-over 77.
New Mexico carded a 275 to finish the day in first place out of the 22-team field. Three players share the lead for the individual title. Will Dodson (SMU), Ryan Moore (UNLV) and Spencer Levin (New Mexico) all sit at 12-under.
