ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Colorado State men’s golf team, ranked 18th in the latest Golfweek rankings released Thursday, notched its fourth top five finish in the last five outings, at the Wolverine Intercollegiate on Sunday. CSU shot a final round 283 and combined for a three-round total of 851 (-1).
Junior Dustin Morris shot an impressive round of 4-under-par 67 to finish with a total of 211 and move up from 31st to 11th place, just one stroke away from his second consecutive top 10 finish in this young season. Morris led the Rams effort Sunday with five birdies and an eagle on Hole 11.
Riley Arp, leading the Rams entering the final round, was on pace for an even-par round until a double bogey on Hole 18 dropped him from 11th to 16th place. Arp posted rounds of 72-69-73 to finish with and even-par, 213. Zen Brown birdied Holes 11 and 17 to finish with a three round total of 215 in a tie for 28th.
Bryce Hanstad improved on his first-day scores of 75 and 72 to shoot an even-par round of 71, His three-round total of 218, placed him in a tie for 40th, while Justin Spray shot three birdies on his first nine holes on Sunday. Spray closed the tournament with a 72 in the final round in a tie for 55th.
The Rams continue action in the fall season Oct. 4-5 in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Pala Desert, Calif.
