ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- In the first day of the 2005-2006 season the Colorado State men's golf team stands in 19th place with a two-round 606 team total in the 51st Annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nate Pettitt was the top Ram, finishing tied for 37th individually. Pettitt started the day off with a one under par 71, and finished the day with a second round 77 for a two-round total of 148. Derrick Whiting shot with a 71, and then ended the day with a 79 giving him a total of 150. Kevin McAlpine carded rounds of 74 and 78 earning him a 152 two-round total.
Zen Brown began his collegiate career with rounds of 77 and 82 netting him a total of 159. Aaron Weston carded a 77 then a 79 giving him a two-round 156 total.
UNLV proved to be the class of the tournament on Friday leading not only eight Mountain West teams in competition but the entire 20-team field with a six under par 560. They lead second place Texas Tech by seven strokes.
The final round of the Tucker Intercollegiate begins early Saturday morning with the tee time set for 7:30 am.
