Juniors, Kirby Pettitt and Mike Sorenson, are tied in 42nd place in 105-man field. Thus far, they have carded identical scores of 74-73--147 (+3).
Of the 18 teams, the Rams are in sixth place with 287-284--571 (-5). Cal, defending champions, remain at the top with 270-286--556 (-20). SMU is in second with a 282-278--560 (-16).
Sam Fidone of SMU and Julian Suri of Duke lead all individuals at 135 (-9).
Head Coach Jamie Bermel’s team is in a good spot to make a move on the final day.
“We got off to a shaky start today but really battled back,” said Bermel. “There was a little more wind today and I thought the golf course played more difficult. I think if we can get all five guys playing well early, hopefully we can post a good score and see if we can’t move up the leaderboard.”
The Rams will tee off at the Turtle Bay Resort’s Arnold Palmer Course for the final round at 11 a.m. MT Friday. Live stats will be available on GolfStat.com.
