FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- CSU, picked to finish eighth in the Mountain West’s preseason media poll, has earned a bowl invitation for the first time since the 2005 Poinsettia Bowl. Colorado State and Fresno State meet for the 12th time. The Rams earned a 35-23 triumph in the teams’ last meeting, in 2006 at Bulldog Stadium.

What to do in Albuquerque on Bowl Weekend

New Mexico Bowl game tickets are still available for fans who would like to attend the contest in Albuquerque, only a six-hour drive from Denver with gas at its lowest prices in years. The best seats are available through the CSU ticket office. All seats are $30 and are located on the sideline. Those fans who aren’t able to attend can purchase tickets on behalf of a bowl charity or families of those serving in the military. To purchase tickets, fans can stop by the McGraw Athletic Center box office, call 1-800/491-RAMS, or visit csurams.com.

More information is available on CSU’s New Mexico Bowl Web site, csurams.com/bowl.

Fort Collins Watch Party

Buffalo Wild Wings, at Harmony and College in Fort Collins, will host a watch party during the game Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. MST. CAM the Ram and the CSU cheerleaders will make an appearance, and trivia, games and other raffle contests will take place.

Plus, the restaurant will donate 10 percent of the day’s food sales to the Colorado State General Scholarship Fund. The CSU athletic department is responsible for paying the scholarships of its athletes.

Denver Watch Party

For fans in the Denver area, the CSU Alumni Association is hosting a hometown huddle watch party at C.B. & Potts in Greenwood Village (6575 Greenwood Plaza Blvd.). Everyone in attendance receives a T-shirt. The fight song will be sung after every score and the restaurant will host a halftime trivia contest. Also, CSU vs. DU basketball tickets (discounted for CSU fans) will be sold for the game in Denver later that night. Door prizes and drink specials also will highlight the day.

Men’s Basketball

Sunday’s game marked the Rams’ last home game until Jan. 10 when CSU opens MWC play against BYU. CSU will next be in action on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. MST, when it visits the University of Denver.

Women’s Basketball

The Rams, who have now won two straight at Moby Arena after beating Northern Iowa Sunday, will be away from the court for final exams this week, and will resume play Sunday Dec. 21 at Creighton. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. MST.
