Marriott becomes new Home of the Rams

Rams fans nationwide will be able to enjoy discounts and promotions thanks to Friday's agreement with Marriott

Rams fans nationwide will be able to enjoy discounts and promotions thanks to Friday's agreement with Marriott

Dec. 11, 2009

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State Athletic Department and the Fort Collins Marriott have come to a partnership agreement, making the hotel the official Home of the Rams, the two organizations announced Friday.

In 2010, the Fort Collins Marriott and its local sister properties, Courtyard by Marriott and Residence Inn, will serve as CSU’s official headquarters, including hosting all of the dozens of annual banquets and luncheons with which fans and the community have become familiar. The hotel also will house CSU’s football team on the evenings prior to every home football game.

“We are extremely pleased and excited to be able to partner with the Marriott,” Director of Athletics Paul Kowalczyk said. “Their commitment in these tough economic times demonstrates their belief in Ram Athletics and the value we bring to their brand and to the Fort Collins community.”

Additionally, Marriott will host CSU’s visiting guests, such as recruits and their families, and other business-related clients.

The athletic department will work diligently with the Marriott to establish Friday night tailgate parties during the football season.

“The scope of this agreement,” Kowalczyk said, “clearly illustrates our continuing desire to provide the best experience possible for our student-athletes while properly supporting our coaches in their efforts to run successful programs.”

Plus, Rams fans across the country will be able to share in discounts and promotions with this new agreement.

For nearly 25 years, the property now known as the Hilton Fort Collins has served with CSU athletics as a great partner. The Hilton still will host CSU functions already scheduled, such as the annual Ram Good Time Auction on March 6, until the Hilton’s agreement expires in the spring.
