Dec. 6, 2013
FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Colorado State will play a football game in 2014 at Boston College, facing the Eagles for just the second time in school history. The schools have finalized a contract to play one game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The matchup between the Rams and Eagles replaces a CSU road game at UTEP previously scheduled for Sept. 20, 2014. Colorado State played Boston College on Dec. 31, 2003 in the San Francisco Bowl, falling 35-21 to the Eagles.
“This will be a great opportunity for our team to play a really quality opponent from the ACC and showcase our great University on a national level,” said Head Coach Jim McElwain. “It’s great for the Colorado State fan base and is really going to help our program as we continue to build toward a sustained level of excellence that we expect at Colorado State University.”
Boston College finished the 2013 regular season with a 7-5 record, 4-4 in the ACC Atlantic Division.
Colorado State also has added a home game vs. UC Davis to its 2014 schedule in what will be the first meeting between the two schools. The Rams and Aggies will play Sept. 13, 2014 at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.
The Rams’ 2014 Mountain West schedule will feature home games against Hawai'i, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming, with road contests at Air Force, Boise State, Nevada and San Jose State. Dates for those games will be announced next spring by the Mountain.
