FORT COLLINS, Colo.-- Colorado State University Director of Athletics Jack Graham and 9NEWS President and General Manager Mark Cornetta announced today a regional television partnership that will provide Ram fans wall-to-wall coverage of the University's football program in 2012.
CSU and 9NEWS will team to broadcast seven CSU football games and 12 weekly Coach's Shows featuring new Head Coach Jim McElwain. All seven games and the weekly Coach's Show will be shown on Channel 20-KTVD.
Channel 20-KTVD is one of the networks of Denver's NBC affiliate 9NEWS, the top-rated station in the nation's 17th largest media market. All games televised will be carried live over-the-air by Channel 20 covering their Colorado broadcast footprint via satellite on Dish and DirecTV and on cable through Comcast.
"We are pleased we were able to finalize this agreement with 9News," Graham said. "It was very important to us to ensure that all Ram football games would be on the air, and we are excited that we were able to achieve that with a prominent and terrific partner in 9News on Channel 20. It will be easy and convenient for our fans to find our games and follow Colorado State football."
With the agreement in place, 11 of the 12 Rams' football games in 2012 will be shown live via broadcast television, and the 12th game (at San Jose State) will be shown on ESPN3.com (see complete schedule below).

Graham and 9NEWS officials began discussions in late spring, leading to today's announcement. It marks the first time CSU will telecast games regionally on one of Denver's four network stations.
"We are pleased to partner with CSU on the televising of these football games and a weekly Coach's Show to their large Colorado fan base," said Cornetta. "We have enjoyed a long association with the University and continuing that through this new and innovative opportunity is something all of us are excited about."
Partnership includes weekly Jim McElwain Show
For two decades, CSU head football coaches have joined 9NEWS sports anchors during the season for a weekly review of CSU football, including game highlights and a preview of upcoming opponents.
Continuing that tradition, CSU and 9NEWS will provide Ram fans with a weekly Coach's Show. New Head Coach Jim McElwain will be featured each Sunday evening (except during the bye week on October 21) on Channel 20 from 9:30 - 10 pm to provide a glimpse behind the scenes of recent game action and a look at the next opponent on CSU's schedule.
"There are many great stories to tell each week, not just highlights from the game. I want Ram fans to see behind the scenes and learn how we are building a program they can be proud of and a program they will want to support," said McElwain.
The show is being produced cooperatively by CSU's Communications and Creative Services (CCS) department.
"CCS has excellent production capabilities," Graham said. "Our cooperative plan with CCS and 9NEWS will allow us to provide high-quality programming on behalf of the entire CSU community. We will tell the story of not only Ram athletics and our football program, but our entire University. We will use this as a vehicle to communicate other exciting things happening on our campus."
