CSU faculty, staff encouraged to take advantage of attractive offers

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – As part of its Commitment to Campus, an ongoing drive to improve the university’s status as a model employer in higher education, Colorado State is rolling out a new slate of employee discounts and opportunities to show appreciation for faculty and staff.

One of the pillars in that slate is a list of great deals on CSU athletics packages for employees across campus.

“We’re excited about this program as a way to show how much we value our faculty and staff and the work that they do, while simultaneously making it easier for them to participate in the life of our campus community,” said President Tony Frank.

Amy Parsons, vice president for university operations, said the university’s goal with the Commitment to Campus was to invest in employee health and well-being and encourage faculty and staff to engage with the university in new ways.

Athletics will offer special faculty/staff days at four total events, one each in football, volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball. As part of these events, the CSU administration is sponsoring concessions coupons to accompany the discounted tickets. There are no tax implications associated with this special offer, for any of the four events.

Football
Faculty/staff Day at Hughes Stadium is Sept. 25, when the Rams kick off their Fort Collins home schedule in an Ag Day rematch with Idaho, which edged CSU last season, 31-29, en route to a bowl victory. That afternoon also is Keli McGregor Day, and the Rams will don orange uniforms while encouraging fans to also wear orange as a tribute to the past and the former school color.

The football offer for faculty and staff is essentially a four-for-one deal, with respect to that Sept. 25 game. CSU employees can save about 75 percent with this opportunity. Details of the package:
·         Buy one adult ticket, get second adult ticket free.
·         Receive up to two (2) youth tickets free with purchase of one adult ticket and the second free adult ticket.
·         Tickets will come with a concessions voucher for one free 20-ounce Pepsi product and either a hot dog or pretzel for each person in that faculty/staff party.
·         Current faculty-staff season ticket holders can also receive the concessions coupons.
·         Seats will be in the north end zone on a space-available basis.

Volleyball
Faculty/staff day at CSU volleyball is Sept. 17, when the No. 17 Rams, the preseason favorite to repeat as Mountain West champions, take on Long Beach State in a battle of national powers. Details of the volleyball package for CSU faculty/staff:
·         Buy one adult ticket, get a second one free.
·         Receive up to two (2) youth tickets free with purchase of one adult ticket and the second free adult ticket.
·         Tickets will come with a concessions voucher for one free 20-ounce Pepsi product and either a hot dog or pretzel for each person in that faculty/staff party.
·         Seating is in the general-admission section.

Purchasing football and volleyball tickets
Faculty/staff packages to the Sept. 17 volleyball match and the Sept. 25 football game will be on sale for two days only, Monday Sept. 13 and Tuesday Sept. 14. Tickets are available for faculty/staff when they purchase them in person at the McGraw Center ticket office during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on either of those days. The package is only available in person, and not over the phone or the Web site.

For football tickets, there is a $5 processing fee per order, so the total cost of the package for faculty/staff is only $30. There is no fee for volleyball, so the total cost of that package is just $6.

Faculty/staff will receive concessions vouchers at the time of purchase. Those purchasing must present their university ID card.

Basketball
Faculty/staff day on the men’s basketball schedule is the Dec. 4 contest against future Mountain West foe Fresno State. Faculty/staff day during the women’s season is the Dec. 2 home opener against Northern Colorado. Details of the basketball package for CSU faculty/staff:
·         Buy one adult ticket, get a second one free.
·         Receive up to two (2) youth tickets free with purchase of one adult ticket and the second free adult ticket.
·         Tickets will come with a concessions voucher for one free 20-ounce Pepsi product and either a hot dog or pretzel for each person in that faculty/staff party.
·         All men’s basketball seating is reserved. The women’s basketball seating will be in the general-admission section.

Purchasing basketball tickets
Faculty/staff packages to the Dec. 2 women’s basketball game and the Dec. 4 men’s hoops contest will be on sale for one day only, Monday Nov. 29. Tickets are available for faculty/staff when they purchase them in person at the McGraw Center ticket office during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on that day. The package is only available in person, and not over the phone or the Web site.

Men’s basketball tickets, all of which are reserved in Moby Arena, have no fees, so the total cost of this package with respect to the Fresno State game is just $12 for faculty/staff. General-admission seats for women’s basketball games at Moby Arena also have no fees, so the total cost of that contest against UNC is only $6 for faculty/staff.

Faculty/staff will receive concessions vouchers at the time of purchase. Those purchasing must present their university ID card.

Youth tickets
The definition of a youth with respect to this specific faculty/staff offer is a child age 3-12. This is necessary because the NCAA will not allow CSU to provide free tickets to a prospective student-athlete. This also is one of the reasons that CSU can’t offer this opportunity over the Web site or phone.

Prizes
Additionally, as part of the employee benefits, the university will hold random drawings for faculty/staff appreciation gear. Participants must be present to win prizes, which may include a football autographed by the CSU football staff, a men’s and women’s basketball signed by the team and staff, or a volleyball signed by the team and staff.
