FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Rams completed their 19th practice of fall camp and one of two practices scheduled for Wednesday under a hazy fog. Starting practice at 7:45 a.m., the team played in mid 50-degree temperatures before the sun showed and warmed conditions toward the end of practice.

In good form was junior cornerback Nick Oppenneer, who is expected to play in the CU game Aug. 31, Head Coach Steve Fairchild said in a post-practice interview. Oppenneer, who has been nursing a leg injury, has continued to ride a stationary bike and jog during practices under the supervision of the Colorado State training staff. He will most likely take part in contact drills the week of Aug. 25.

Engaging in contact was senior Dane Stratton. While a knee injury had put him in a red jersey recently, the offensive lineman was taking reps in full pads with the No. 1 offense.

Those in attendance Wednesday morning included former tight end Matt Bartz, who played at CSU from 2001-04. Also, two professional scouts representing the Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders watched from the sidelines.

The second practice Wednesday is set for 7 p.m. at Hughes stadium. The practice is closed to the public as the Rams prepare for a second full scrimmage, scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. The scrimmage also is closed to the public, as Fairchild and his staff continue to install elements of their first game plan.
