Colorado State to play Northern Colorado in 2016 at Hughes Stadium

FORT COLLINS, Colo.— Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado have finalized an agreement to play a football game in Fort Collins in 2016. The Rams and Bears will take the field at Hughes Stadium Sept. 17, 2016, for the 19th time in the series history and first time since 2011.

Colorado State’s 2016 non-conference schedule also includes games vs. Colorado (Sept. 3 in Denver), at Minnesota (Sept. 24) and vs. Texas-San Antonio (Oct. 1), in addition to a slate of eight Mountain West games. Dates for the MW games will be announced in the spring of 2016.

The Rams and Bears have met 18 times on the gridiron, with CSU holding an advantage of 17-0-1 in the series. The initial clash in 1899 resulted in a 5-5 tie. The Rams are 8-0-1 against the Bears in Fort Collins, with the most recent contest coming in 2011, a 33-14 win.
