New fly-through video of on-campus stadium debuts

April 13, 2016

Anticipation for the 2017 opening of Colorado State University’s new multipurpose on-campus stadium is running high. Fans and supporters have had the opportunity to view renderings of the new facility and watch animated fly-through videos of the premium seating areas, and a new video introduced today by the Athletics Department takes viewers on an animated tour of never-before-seen spaces throughout the entire state-of-the-art facility.

Narrated by CSU alumnus and long-time CBS Denver news anchor Jim Benemann, the video sets the spectacular new structure in the context of Colorado State’s rich football history and its uniquely beautiful campus setting. It features the perspectives of CSU President Dr. Tony Frank, Athletics Director Joe Parker, Head Football Coach Mike Bobo, Executive Director of Alumni Relations Kristi Bohlender and student-athletes, describing the ways the new facility will transform engagement with current, former and future Colorado State students, staff and faculty.

In addition to providing unique fly-throughs of the premium seating spaces, the video takes viewers through the Rams’ locker room, the first-of-its-kind Field Club and Hall of Champions, as well as the Alumni Center and academic space that highlights the east side of the building.

The stadium will host its first Rams football game in less than 17 months, and excitement has been running high among CSU supporters. Signed commitments have already been received for more than 70 percent of all premium seating inventory, and football season tickets sales for 2016, the final season in Hughes Stadium, are in high demand as fans position themselves to be part of the priority reseating process that will commence a year from now for the inaugural season in the new stadium.

The four premium seating areas, displayed in detail in the new video, include indoor and outdoor club sections, suites and loge boxes.

Premium seating provides exclusive access to hospitality areas and amenities newly available to Rams fans when the on-campus stadium, with a capacity of 41,000, ushers in a new era of Rams football. The new facility will play a key role in the fulfillment of CSU Athletics’ mission statement “To Educate, Engage and Excel.”

More information can be found by visiting Colorado State’s official new stadium website at www.stadium.colostate.edu. Visitors to the website can view other construction-related videos and photos, access the special three-dimensional interactive website that provides the view from every seat in the stadium, and even purchase commemorative bricks that will form the letters “RAMS” outside the north plaza gate, honoring CSU’s heritage and the generous donations of Rams fans.

Sales for non-premium seats will begin in the spring of 2017 with existing season ticketholders renewing their seats in priority order based on Ram Points totals as of Dec. 31, 2016. New season tickets for the 2017 season will be made available for sale to the general public later that summer, as inventory remains.

Alumni and fans are encouraged to join the effort by making donations directly to the stadium capital campaign or securing premium seating today by visiting stadium.colostate.edu or calling the Ram Club at (970) 491-4666. Donations associated with premium seating and the stadium capital campaign help to service bond payments on the new stadium, making the new venue a reality while positively impacting the future of Colorado State University, its students, alumni and the community for decades to come.
