Head coach Mike Bobo and his staff have treated this week like a game week, as the Rams prepare to travel on Saturday morning to Dove Valley for their second spring scrimmage.
Colorado State practiced inside the indoor practice facility on Thursday afternoon and treated the day like a normal Thursday during the season.
"We went inside today and cut about 20 minutes off practice, trying to get them mentally ready for Saturday," Bobo said. "We'll rest, watch the film tomorrow and Saturday is going to be like a gameday."
The team has been given Friday off as they rest, because on Saturday Bobo will run his team through at least 100 plays.
"We are going to treat it like it is a game," Bobo said. "We'll come over here (McGraw Athletic Center) and have our meetings in the morning, pregame meal, get on the bus, go to the practice facility and treat it like a game."
CSU has now completed 10 of the 15 allotted spring practices. After Saturday's scrimmage, the focus will turn to the Green and Gold Spring Game on Saturday, April 18.
CSURams.com will have a recap, stats and photos from Saturday's scrimmage at Dove Valley. Admission to the Dove Valley scrimmage will be made available exclusively to Colorado State football season ticketholders and Ram Club members who have renewed for 2015.

Alvis Whitted quotables
(on Rashard Higgins)
"When he went home in the spring, he didn't want to stop working out. He was out at home training hard, and I think that is one of the deals that it caught up to him a little bit. He was training with a coach that he has back home in Dallas. That is his deal, he is going to work and he isn't going to get complacent. He is going to keep getting better."
(on Xavier Williams)
"I'm really proud of Xavier, because one he has done really great things academically to get himself back on track, and it has carried over on the football field. You've seen that in big games, Boston College and Air Force, and he is a kid that hasn't played a lot of football. He has to continue to be coachable. If he continues to do that, he'll be in the same mold as Joe (Hansley) and Rashard."
Ronnie Letson quotables
(on what he wants to see from his quarterbacks this Saturday)
"You just want to see if they can make a step forward from last week. I think last week during the week they gradually made progress, and some of them made better strides than others when it came to Saturday. This week we made a little bit better strides. So hopefully make a bigger stride than from last Saturday in the scrimmage. Continuing in strides is the biggest thing. Learning from our mistakes and not making the same mistakes twice."
(on Nick Stevens and Coleman Key)
"Nick is knowledge is because, in my opinion, is because he has been in college. He has been in the war. Coleman (Key) was in high school a year ago now, and it is hard for a true freshman to learn, and this is his second system. I think they've both, and Craig (Leonard) too, made strides of learning what we `re trying to do."
GREEN AND GOLD GAME: Spring practice will end with the annual Green and Gold Spring Game on Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. The game will be held at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium. More details surrounding the game to come.
