April 8, 2009
Brochure, schedule and registration
By Matt Pucak FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Space remains available for the 2009 Colorado State Football Coaches Clinic, which will feature top-flight coaches and speakers from every level of football, headlined by the Rams' New Mexico Bowl-winning staff and Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak. The clinic will feature a bevy of activities, highlighted by several guest speakers, chalk talks with staff, and on-field access to the CSU spring game on April 18. The clinic will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 17, and feature a full day of activities. The cost for the clinic is $75, while those wishing to attend for the purposes of continuing education can earn one credit for an additional $72. Kubiak, who enters his fourth year at the reins of the NFL's Texans, was the offensive coordinator of Denver Broncos teams that won Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII. The former Broncos quarterback has two sons, Klint and Klay, who currently play football at Colorado State and is highly regarded as one of the top offensive minds in football. Other guest speakers for the event will be former NFL player Blaise Winter, former CSU player John Ivlow and Poudre High School coach Steve Bradley. Winter, a Syracuse graduate who played 11 seasons in the NFL, is now one of the nation's foremost motivational speakers. A defensive end on the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl XXXI championship team, Winter shares his life experiences and encourages his audience to believe in themselves, overcome obstacles and be relentless in the pursuit of their dreams. Ivlow, a starting running back at Colorado State for the 1991-92 seasons, played three seasons in the NFL and was a member of the 1998 Super Bowl champion Broncos. Ivlow took over the coaching duties in 2002 at Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School, where his Raiders are annually one of the top teams in Illinois Class 8A football. After more than two decades as an assistant at Poudre, Bradley took over as head coach and led the Impalas to the Colorado 5A semifinals in his first season. A passionate teacher and coach, Bradley will discuss play-action pass concepts. To register for the event, interested coaches should call CSU's football office at 970/491-6131, or Tom Ehlers, director of football operations, at 970/491-5092.
