Spring Media Guide | Practice at Dick's Sporting Goods Park
Colorado State begins its 2014 Spring Football practice period on Tuesday, March 25, with the first practice set for 3:15 p.m. All practices are closed to the public but will take place at the Rams' on-campus practice fields, located just south of the McGraw Athletic Center complex, with the exception of several scrimmages at Hughes Stadium, one practice at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and the annual Spring Game on April 19.
Per NCAA rules, Colorado State may conduct 15 practice sessions in the spring period.
On Monday afternoon, Head Coach Jim McElwain met with members of the media to preview his third spring in Fort Collins. McElwain discussed position changes, injuries and expectations leading into Tuesday's practice.
Highlights from McElwain's presser:
(on message to team)
"One of the things we talked about is are they are satisfied with having an OK season and a bowl win, which is not the expectation in our program."
(on wide receivers)
"I'm really excited to see the competition we are going to have at the receiver spot. Moving forward, we are getting the type of players in here that are going to be weapons in this conference. I have high expectations for that group, and let's see if we reach it."
