Kapri Bibbs earned an NFL Scouting Combine on Monday
Jan. 27, 2014
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State running back Kapri Bibbs will join teammates Crockett Gillmore and Weston Richburg at the NFL Scouting Combine held on Feb. 22-25 in Indianapolis, Ind.
“I'm really excited to showcase my abilities and everything I have worked hard for,” Bibbs said. “I just really feel blessed at this moment and I know this is only the beginning of good things to come.”
In his lone season in Fort Collins, Bibbs rushed for a school record 1,741 yards, the fifth-most nationally, and a NCAA-leading 31 touchdowns. He is one of four NCAA athletes to score 30 rushing touchdowns in a single season, joining Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State - 1988), Montee Ball (Wisconsin - 2011) and Keenan Reynolds (Navy - 2013).
Bibbs, who was named second-team All-America by the Walter Camp Foundation, helped lead the Rams to an 8-6 season, including a victory over Washington State in the 2013 Gildan New Mexico Bowl.
Running backs will participate on the second day of the NFL Scouting Combine (Feb. 23), while Gillmore and Richburg will demonstrate their abilities on Feb. 22.
This is the first time since 2001 that the Rams have had at least three players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine (Rick Crowell, John Howell and Tim Stuber).
"It's a great time to be a Ram,” Head Coach Jim McElwain said. “I'm excited to see our players have a chance to showcase their abilities in postseason all-star games and at the Combine. People can see what a special place we have at Colorado State. The more team success we have, the more individual opportunities we will see like this."
