Postgame Notes
Air Force  at Colorado State
Sat., Oct. 13, 2007

Air Force's first-quarter interception return

Was the first INT returned for a touchdown by a CSU opponent since Brian Iwuh scored on a 37-yard play at Colorado on Sept. 4, 2004, in Boulder, picking off Justin Holland.

Chad Hall

Established a Hughes Stadium record with 256 rushing yards, breaking the mark previously held by Utah State's Louis Giammona, who had 242 rushing yards on Nov. 17, 1975.

No punts

The Rams did not punt on the afternoon. Media relations research was unable to produce another game in the Sonny Lubick era (1993-present) in which the Rams did not punt. The staff will continue to search for the last instance.

Gartrell Johnson

·          Made his first start as a tailback since Dec. 2, 2006, at San Diego State. On CSU's first-quarter scoring drive, he carried seven times for 30 yards (4.3 avg.), capping the march with his first touchdown since Nov. 11, 2006, at Utah.

·          Johnson went on to rack up a career-high 143 rushing yards, eclipsing his previous best, 75 yards, set last season at Air Force.

·          His 34-yard run late in the third quarter marked a career-long and the longest by a CSU running back this season.

Caleb Hanie

Extended his streak of games with a touchdown pass to six, covering every contest of the 2007 season. He did not throw for a TD in the 2006 finale.

Matt Rupp

With a 52-yard fumble return in the fourth quarter, scored CSU's first defensive points since Oct. 7, 2006, when Jeff Horinek returned an interception for a 14-yard touchdown. It also was Rupp's first career touchdown.

Short halftime

Officials shortened the halftime by 5 minutes in an attempt to finish the game before an oncoming thunderstorm.

First AFA win in a decade

Air Force has not won in Fort Collins since Sept. 20, 1997, a 24-0 victory.
