2011 (Freshman): Signed a financial-aid agreement with the Rams on the eve of fall camp...Ineligible for the 2011 season after Central Oklahoma did not release him from National Letter of Intent commitment, began working out with the Rams on the first day of fall practice.

2010: Did not play as a true freshman...Initially signed in February 2010 with Central Oklahoma, but after leading his high school to the state track championship later that spring, winning a pair of individual state titles as well as two relay crowns, began drawing interest from several schools, including Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Arkansas, but Central Oklahoma would not release him from his NLI...Spent a month in the early fall at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M before returning home to stay in shape, working out at his prep alma mater...Took classes in the spring of 2011 at Central Oklahoma, before joining CSU.

High School: Teaming up with current CSU lineman Mason Myers at Southmoore High School in suburban Oklahoma City, helped guide the Sabercats (11-1) in only their second season of play to city, district and regional championships, and the semifinals of the 2009 Oklahoma 6A playoffs...A three-year football letterman, started every game as a junior and senior from 2008-09...As a senior, refused to sit out despite playing four games with the H1N1 virus...Somewhat limited by the ailment, still started all 12 games and caught 28 passes for 543 yards (19.4 avg.) and seven touchdowns...The year before, was Southmoore's go-to receiver in 2008, catching 45 passes for 728 yards (16.2 avg.) and eight scores...An all-district wide receiver and honorable-mention all-state selection, was the team's primary primary punter in 2008 and part-time punter in 2009...Also returned punts his final two seasons and served as an occasional kickoff-return man...As a defensive back in 2008, when the Sabercats were 2-8 in the program's first campaign, intercepted a pass and collected a handful of tackles...Head football coach was Chris Jensen...Participated in track just one season, his senior campaign, but led the Sabercats to the 2010 state championship, winning individual state titles in the 100 and 200 meters, in addition to state crowns in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays...High-school personal bests were 10.38 seconds in the 100, 21.10 in the 200, and 4.4 in the 40-yard dash... Drew football recruiting interest in high school from Air Force, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Tulsa.
