2011 (Freshman): A 21-year-old grayshirt true freshman, who initially signed with the Rams out of high school in February 2008, played in all 12 games, with two starts...Recorded 20 tackles (nine solo)...Left on a two-year LDS mission in the fall of 2008 before enrolling at CSU in January 2011 and going through spring practice...Made his collegiate debut in season-opening win at New Mexico (Sept. 3), entering on defense in the second quarter; also saw key playing time in the fourth quarter, for an injured Austin Gray...In 38-31 loss vs. San Jose State (Oct. 1), beat his blocker on a third-quarter kickoff and registered a big tackle...Early in loss vs. No. 5 Boise State (Oct. 15), broke through a block to drop PR Mitch Burroughs for a 2-yard loss...Made his first career start, in place of Ivory Herd, in loss at UTEP (Oct. 22)...Also started in 38-35 loss at UNLV (Oct. 29), before Herd returned to the lineup vs. San Diego State (Nov. 12) ...Earned academic all-conference honors following the season.

High School: Departed on a two-year LDS mission in November of 2008, to the Laredo-Brownsville area of Texas, after initially signing National Letter of Intent with CSU in February 2008...Received all-county and first-team all-CIF honors as a linebacker in 2007 at Valley Center (Calif.) High School, north of San Diego...Also garnered second-team all-conference recognition as a senior receiver...Posted 144 tackles (74 solo) as a senior, including nine stops behind line of scrimmage...Also voted team's Defensive Player of the Year as a 2007 team captain...Played H-back and inside linebacker for Valley Center...Caught 36 passes for 649 yards and six touchdowns in 2007...Helped the Jaguars win two CIF Division IV state championships, as a sophomore and senior...Head coach was Rob Gilster...A four-sport athlete, lettered three years in both football and volleyball, twice in basketball and once in track...Helped volleyball team to consecutive state titles, as a sophomore and junior (contributed to four overall state titles, including two in football)...Earned San Diego all-academic and Scholar Athlete honors...
