High School: Plans to depart on a two-year mission in the fall of 2011 and return in time to enroll at Colorado State as a 21-year-old true freshman in the spring of 2014...Led Valley Center (Calif.) High School, north of San Diego, to consecutive appearances in the CIF Division IV state championship game and a 23-3 record in two seasons (2009-10) as the starting quarterback...Lost only three games, and all were to CIF state champions (two were in state title games, and the other was to arguably California's best team in 2009, Oceanside)...Started all 26 games after taking the starting reins prior to the 2009 season...Completed 64.0 percent of his career passes (187-of-292) for 2,798 yards, 23 touchdowns and just eight INTs...Also rushed for 10 career TDs...As a first-team all-Valley Conference quarterback, led the Jaguars to an undefeated league title and 12 straight wins in 2010, until VCHS lost to Madison in the state championship...Connected on 126-of-193 passes (.653), with 16 touchdowns and five INTs; also averaged 5.4 yards per carry (73-for-392), with eight TDs...Managed an offense that spurred the Jaguars to an 11-2 record in 2009, a season that ended with a loss to Mission Bay in the state final...Threw for 933 yards and seven TDs as a junior...Voted Most Inspirational Player by his coaches and teammates...Head football coach was Rob Gilster...Competed against CSU QB Pete Thomas during summer passing leagues...Has 4.8-second speed in the 40-yard dash...Also started and lettered three years in both volleyball as his team's setter, and basketball as a forward that averaged 8-10 points and 11-12 rebounds per game...Carried a 3.8 GPA throughout high school...Selected CSU after being recruited by BYU, Utah, Stanford and San Diego State.
