High School: A four-year letterman and three-year starter, earned consecutive all-state selections at powerhouse Kimball High School in southwest Dallas...A two-time all-state and four-time all-district selection, was ranked the No. 57 defensive lineman in the nation by listed him No. 49 on its Texas 120 list, calling him one of the better two-sport athletes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area...Also handled kickoffs and field goals for Kimball...Helped the Knights to a 9-3 record as a senior, when they advanced to the area round of the Class 4A/Division I playoffs...The team's 2010 Defensive Player of the Year, had 78 total tackles, 12 for loss, with eight sacks and three forced fumbles...As a junior in 2009, had five sacks, eight tackles for loss, 40 overall stops and four forced fumbles...Head football coach was Carlton Nelson...Also lettered three years in basketball, averaging nine points and 12 rebounds as a center, and will graduate with four letters in track, in which he threw the shot put and discus...Chose CSU over offers from Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.
