High School: A two-year letterman at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas, about four hours east of El Paso, signed a financial-aid agreement Nov. 29, 2011, and enrolled at CSU for the spring 2012 semester...A flywheel in the Panthers' offense, lined up in the backfield and as both a tight and split end...Averaged 1.2 touchdowns per game as a two-year varsity player...Rated the No. 110 football athlete in the nation by ESPN.com entering his 2010 senior campaign, earned three stars from the Web site...Base position was wide receiver at PHS, the school made famous by the 1990 H.G. Bissinger best-seller Friday Night Lights, later adapted by Peter Berg into a 2004 motion picture starring Billy Bob Thornton, and an ensuing NBC TV series...Played for the coach depicted in that movie by Thornton, Gary Gaines, who returned for a second stint at PHS prior to Morris' sophomore season...Played five games as a senior team captain in 2010; with him, the Panthers were 4-1; without him, they were 0-5 and missed the playoffs...Caught 25 passes for 324 yards and one TD, while compiling 67 rushing yards and scoring four TDs on just nine carries...As a junior in 2009, his first season as a varsity player, earned District 3 Newcomer of the Year, and all-Permian Basin and second-team all-district honors...On the strength of a team-leading 15 touchdowns, guided Permian to an 8-4 record and the second round of the Texas 5A Division I playoffs; finished with 30 catches for 532 yards and five TDs, and ran for 224 yards on 46 carries, with 10 touchdowns...Also played basketball at Permian...Fastest 40 time in high school was 4.5, while his max bench press was 285 pounds and squat was 475; also owned a 30-inch vertical leap, a 3.0 GPA and a 1450 on the SAT.
