High School: Went to five high schools in two states during his four years of high school, moving from Georgia to Florida as a freshman...Played wide receiver, quarterback, running back and free safety for three programs in the Orlando area, earning three total letters...Was ineligible and didn't play his junior year (2008 ), although he drew serious recruiting attention after earning MVP honors at a skills camp in Chapel Hill, N.C., and attending a Nike camp in Tallahassee, Fla., following that 2008 season...Attended three high schools as a senior...Began the '09 season at Orlando Colonial, where his brother, current CSU player C.J. James, played in 2008...Because schools didn't have much film on him since he missed the '08 campaign, opted to transfer early in the '09 season from Colonial to Jones, whose coach, former University of Miami and Redskins, Browns and Broncos fullback Kenard Lang, featured a passing attack that would throw the ball more often...But due to state transfer rules, unexpectedly had to sit out most of the '09 season, and wound up seeing only limited action at Jones late in the year...As a result of the transfer rules, played sparingly at both schools, combining for 28 tackles and six sacks on the defensive side, and eight catches for 119 yards as a receiver...Saw his JHS season ended in the first round of the Class 2A state playoffs by eventual state champion Cocoa...With Colonial earlier in the year, posted a 15-tackle effort...After the season, transferred again to Oak Ridge, in order to graduate from the school where his mother teaches English ...Before transferring and sitting out his junior campaign, as a sophomore at Orlando Olympia caught 17 passes for 238 yards and a pair of TDs, in addition to 24 tackles...Played home games in the Florida Citrus Bowl...Head football coaches in Orlando were Bob Head, Steve Breitbeil and Kenard Lang...Was a team captain...Also lettered three years in basketball...Owns 4.45 speed in the 40-yard dash...Also recruited by Auburn, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina and Central Florida.
