High School: No. 53 on the Orlando Sentinel's all-Central Florida team as a senior, helped the Seminole Seminoles in Sanford, Fla., north of Orlando, go 21-5 over his final two seasons, including a 2008 state championship...A three-year letterman, played both offensive and defensive lines, serving one year as a full-time starter and team captain (both in 2009) for a program that has produced several NFL players, including QB Jeff Blake, LB D'Qwell Jackson and C Jeff Faine...As a senior, garnered second-team all-conference honors by leading a 9-3 team in sacks (six), among 59 tackles, including a season-high 10 against DeLand, a Class 6A finalist...Additionally registered a safety, forced three fumbles and recovered three others, one of which he returned 28 yards for a touchdown, helping SHS to the region semifinals...One of five Division I signees from his senior class...As a junior, played for a Seminole team that went 13-2 and knocked off Miami Northwestern to capture the 2008 Florida Class 6A championship; backed up an eventual Division I signee at defensive end, and played with two five-star recruits, the No. 1-ranked athlete in the nation, Ray Ray Armstrong (Miami), and the country's No. 2 receiver, Andre Debose (Florida)...Also played basketball, averaging six points and 10 rebounds per game...Head football coach was Mike Cullison...Had 4.6-second speed in the 40-yard dash...School also produced World Series MVP David Eckstein...Also recruited by Central Florida, New Mexico, East Carolina, Tulane, North Alabama, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee State.
