2012 (Senior): A former defensive back and defensive end, who also played linebacker in 2010, was moved back to linebacker during spring after CSU implemented a 3-4 scheme.

  • Saw action against in-state rival Colorado (Sept. 1) and registered one solo tackle.
  • Recorded three tackles against San Jose State (Sept. 15), the Rams first true road game. Two of his three tackles came in special teams situations, including a tackle before halftime which kept the Spartans backed up inside their own 10-yardline.
  • Played in his 40th collegiate game against Air Force (Sept. 29). He had a season-high four tackles. Late in the fourth quarter he stopped the Falcons running back for no gain and forced AFA to punt.
  • Against Fresno State (Oct. 6), the top offense in the Mountain West, had two tackles.
  • In a road defeat vs. San Diego State 9Oct. 13) registered three tackles (two solo).
  • Was hampered by injuries and was forced to miss a home victory against UNLV (Nov. 10) and a road loss at Boise State (Nov. 17).
  • Returned to play in the season-finale victory over New Mexico (Nov. 24).

2011 (Junior): A former defensive back and linebacker, played in 11 games with four starts...Picked up a dozen tackles (six solo), recovered two fumbles and forced another...In season-opening win at New Mexico (Sept. 3), replaced an injured Broderick Sargent on the second series and played most of the game; made a critical play late in first quarter, poking the ball from the hands of Crusoe Gongbay inches from the plane of the goal line, before Ivory Herd recovered in the end zone...Also in Lobos contest, recovered a fumble to snuff out UNM's first series of the second half...In home opener vs. Northern Colorado (Sept. 10), made his first start since Oct. 23, 2010, pressed into the lineup after the season-ending injury to Sargent...In Denver loss vs. Colorado (Sept. 17), forced a second-quarter incompletion that nearly went down as a sack and forced fumble; officials initially ruled the QB's arm was moving forward, then upheld it after a replay review...In exhilarating win at Utah State (Sept. 24), dropped RB Robert Turbin short of the sticks on third-and-3 to force a first-quarter punt... In 38-31 loss vs. San Jose State (Oct. 1), with the Spartans driving into CSU territory in a 31-31 game and eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter; recovered a Matt Faulkner fumble at the SJSU 45-yard line after Shaquil Barrett sacked the QB and launched the ball high in the air...Sustained a foot injury in loss at UTEP (Oct. 22) and played in pain at UNLV (Oct. 29)...Started in windy, 18-15 loss vs. San Diego State (Nov. 12)...In season finale vs. Wyoming (Dec. 3), made a pivotal play with CSU down 14-12 in the third quarter, nearly sacking QB Brett Smith and forcing an incompletion on third-and-5 to force a punt; CSU scored a go-ahead TD on the ensuing drive.

2010 (Sophomore): Made the transition from LB to DE after 2010 spring practice and played in all 12 games (seven starts)...Posted 22 tackles (11 solo), one for loss, and coaches credited him with five QB hurries...After injuries depleted the position, spent all of fall camp as the starting left DE, and opened the season in the lineup vs. Colorado (Sept. 4)...Played but did not start at Miami-Ohio (Sept. 18)...Early in dramatic 36-34 win vs. Idaho (Sept. 25), hurried QB Nathan Enderle on an incomplete pass, forcing the Vandals to settle for an eventual FG, then nearly made a game-changing INT on a Vandals drive in the fourth quarter...In win vs. UNLV (Oct. 16), combined with Guy Miller on the first play to throw Deante Purvis for a 1-yard loss, then teamed with Mychal Sisson to blast Purvis in the backfield on a screen for a 7-yard loss, helping to force a third-quarter punt...Did not start 38-14 win vs. New Mexico (Oct. 30), but played much of the game...At Wyoming (Nov. 20), forced a third-quarter punt with third-down pressure on the QB.

2009 (Freshman): Saw action in all 12 games, (three starts)...Recorded 15 stops (five solo)...In his first college game, a resounding 23-17 win at Colorado (Sept. 6), made a huge special-teams tackle early in the fourth quarter, dropping PR Jason Espinoza for a 1-yard loss inside the Buffs' 10; the CSU defense then forced a punt and the Rams kicked a FG on the ensuing series to take a 23-10 lead...Made his first career start in loss at No. 8 TCU (Oct. 17), and posted six tackles...Pressed into action late in first quarter after Michael Kawulok's knee injury, played balance of the game in loss vs. San Diego State (Oct. 24)...Started at SLB in loss vs. Air Force (Oct. 31)...Sustained ankle injury in loss at UNLV (Nov. 7) and did not start, but played, in loss at New Mexico (Nov. 21), on his birthday...Moved to DE by coaches following 2010 spring practice.

2008: Redshirted in his first season of eligibility.

High School: Helped Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo., win the 2007 Class 5A Colorado state championship, a thrilling 20-14 OT win over Douglas County at Invesco Field...Played safety and RB for the Wolves...As a senior, rushed for 427 yards on 114 carries, with three TDs...Head coach was John Schultz...Prior to his junior year, transferred to Grandview from Cherry Creek and could play only in the final six games due to transfer rules...In addition to his three letters in football, also lettered four years in track...Served as football captain in 2007, and a track captain as a junior...His track team's MVP for three years, earned all-state and all-conference accolades in 2007...Specialized in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, establishing school records in both events...As a freshman, attended Cherry Creek in Englewood, Colo., earning the Bruins' most valuable athlete award in track...Also drew interest from K-State, Arizona State, Louisville, Oregon and CU.
