2012 (Senior): A player who has athleticism that coaches want to get on the field, he has bounced around from position to position. Played on the defensive line last season before a season-ending knee injury just a few plays into the first game at New Mexico. Appearing at linebacker for all 12 games this season, finished with 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.

  • Recorded two tackles and 0.5 tackle for loss in CSU's home-opener against North Dakota State (Sept. 8).
  • Was voted one of the team's four captains for the Rams' first true road game at San Jose State (Sept. 15) by his coaches and teammates.
  • On the road at Air Force (Sept. 29), registered a season-high six tackles.
  • At home against Fresno State (Oct. 6), sacked Bulldogs quarterback Derek Carr for his first sack of the season and his first since Sept. 25, 2010 vs. Idaho.
  • Started on the road against San Diego State (Oct. 13).
  • Had three tackles in the rams home win over Hawai'i (Oct. 27), including a third-and-goal combined stop with Calvin Tonga to force the Warriors into a difficult fourth down.
  • Recorded another three-tackle performance against UNLV (Nov. 3).
  • On the blue turf at Boise State (Nov. 17), registered a start and had two tackles.

2011 (Junior): CSU's most promising defensive lineman out of fall camp, sustained a season-ending ACL injury less than five minutes into the season, on the Rams' fourth defensive snap at New Mexico (Sept. 3)...Underwent surgery Sept. 29.

2010 (Sophomore): A former tight end, linebacker and fullback, entered fall camp as the Rams' starter at his new position, defensive end, and was nominated for all-conference recognition...Played in 11 games (11 starts)...Had 37 tackles (18 solo), 6 ½ stops for loss, two sacks and one fumble recovery, while coaches credited him with nine QB hurries...In season-opener, vs. Colorado (Sept. 4) in Denver, made his first career start; playing opposite a projected first-round NFL draft choice, CU's Nate Solder, had a career-best five tackles...In the fourth quarter against the Buffs, read a pass and threw RB Brian Lockridge for a 2-yard loss, forcing the Buffs into a third-and-12; also had an earlier hurry wiped out by a CU penalty...At Nevada (Sept. 11), picked up a hurry late in the first half, forcing a Colin Kaepernick incompletion...At Miami-Ohio (Sept. 18), registered his first career sack, dropping Zac Dysert late in the third quarter, one of his 2½ tackles for loss; also combined to throw RB Tracy Woods for a 1-yard loss in the second quarter, then dropped the back for another loss in the second half...In dramatic 36-34 win vs. Idaho (Sept. 25), Keli McGregor Day, halted the Vandals' second drive with a third-down sack, forcing Idaho to settle for a field goal; then, at the end of the third quarter, on consecutive snaps, combined with Ricky Brewer to drop Deonte Jackson for a 2-yard loss, then chased down QB Nathan Enderle for a near sack, forcing a punt with CSU trailing 27-24...With 19 seconds left in the first half of Idaho contest, with the Rams trailing 13-7, pounced on an Enderle fumble forced by Guy Miller, setting up a critical go-ahead TD just before intermission...In loss vs. No. 5 TCU (Oct. 2), combined to hold electric WR Jeremy Kerley to a short gain on a screen late in the first half...At No. 25 Air Force (Oct. 9), threw QB Tim Jefferson for a 2-yard loss early in the second half...Had a pair of stops in 43-10 win vs. UNLV (Oct. 16), but sat out the final quarter and-a-half as a precaution with head and neck soreness; was injured in the third quarter after laying out in pursuit of Omar Clayton, who had escaped a collapsed pocket; was able to walk off on his own power...Traveled but did not play in ensuing game at No. 9 Utah (Oct. 23)...Returned to the lineup in 38-14 win vs. New Mexico (Oct. 30), combining with Guy Miller to drop QB Stump Godfrey for a loss on the first play of the second half, after UNM had surprised CSU and recovered an onside kick...At SDSU (Nov. 6), combined to drop MWC leading rusher Ronnie Hillman for a loss early in the fourth quarter...At Wyoming (Nov. 20), tackled Alvester Alexander for no gain on third-and-1 on the Cowboys' opening possession; CSU then forced a turnover on downs one play later; also picked up a QB hurry on a third-quarter incompletion.

2009 (Freshman): Played in all 12 games, primarily on special teams...Had seven tackles (four solo)...Made his college debut in season-opening win at Colorado (Sept. 6)...Returned to defense in Week 7, when injuries at linebacker spawned coaches to move him back to his original position to provide depth...Still played in the offensive backfield in loss at No. 8 TCU (Oct. 17)...In loss at UNLV (Nov. 7), saw action in the offensive backfield, then came within inches of blocking a first-quarter punt...Picked up a big block to help John Mosure into the end zone on a first-quarter play in last-second loss at New Mexico (Nov. 21)...Earned academic all-conference following the season.

2008: Redshirted in his first season of college eligibility.

High School: A first-team all-conference choice on both sides of the ball as a senior at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis, played both tight end and linebacker...Also received all-metro and third-team all-state honors as a tight end in 2007, and second-team all-conference honors on both offense and defense as a junior in 2006...Head football coach was Mark Goldenberg...Lettered two years in football and three in track, in which he was a captain for three years...Qualified for the state track meet and was voted MVP by his PCHS track teammates...A 2008 scholar-athlete, also received the U.S. Army National Scholar Athlete Award...Had a 4.0 weighted GPA.
