High School: A four-year letterwinner under head coach Matt Kerstetter at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., was rated by Scout.com as the nation'sNo. 66 outside linebacker in his class...Combined as a junior and senior, compiled 29 sacks,an impressive 1.16 per game,while starting all 25 contests at defensive endfor the Toreadors from 2008-09...Helped his team to the second round of the L.A. City Section playoffs as a senior, and to the semifinals as a junior...As a senior in 2009, when THS went 7-5, recorded 42 total tackles, 12 sacks, five forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles, which earned him a spot on the Los Angeles Times all-area team...Helping Taft to an 11-2 record as a junior in 2008, his first season as a full-time defensive player...Tied a single-season schoolrecord with 17 sacks as a junior, and broke the Los Angeles City Section record with 29 tackles for loss (211 yards); also forced three fumbles and deflected seven passes in 2008...Picked up first-team all-West Valley League andsecond-team all-city honors,and finished second in voting for the 2008 City Section Defensive Lineman of the Year...As a sophomore saw limited action at wide receiver and second-string quarterback...Most memorable play from his high-school career came in his junior year against powerhouse Birmingham, when he recorded a 17-yard sack on a crucial third down to help preserve a 34-22 triumph...Runs a 4.67-second 40...Also recruited by Kansas State, Hawaii, USC and Arizona State.
