Coaching Accomplishments
Has earned the reputation as one of the nation's premier special teams coaches during a career that has spanned both the collegiate and professional ranks.
Guided Montana State to the NCAA Division I-AA national championship in 1984.
Named Kodak National Coach of the Year in 1984.
Was named the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year after leading Montana State to a league title and a 12-2 overall record in 1984.
Has coached in eight bowl games.
Helped guide Miami (Fla.) to two national championships.

Coached such notable performers as Warren Sapp, Kevin Williams, Darryl Williams and Rob Chudznski while an assistant at the University of Miami (Fla.).
As an assistant coach with the Seattle Seahawks, coached punter Rich Tuten, kicker Todd Peterson and return specialist Joey Galloway.
Miami kicker Carlos Huerta was an All-America selection who formerly held the NCAA record by making more than 150 point-after attempts in succession.
Formerly coached premier kickers Morten Anderson (Michigan State) and Jason Hanson (Washington State) while serving as a college assistant coach.
During his tenure as an assistant coach at Washington State, tutored Steve Broussard and Mike Utley, and coached Mark Fellows and Kelly Bradley at Montana State.
Rams tight end Joel Dreessen was drafted by the New York Jets in 2005 and punter Jimmie Kaylor led the MWC and was a first-team all-conference pick in 2005.
