2012 (Freshman): Did not play; spent season as a varsity reserve.

2011:
Did not play as a walk-on; practiced occasionally with the second- and third teams due to injuries across the offensive line...Redshirted in his first official season of college football.

2010: Transferred to CSU from the Air Force prep school in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he spent the 2010-11 academic year and saw limited playing time due to injury.

High School: As a senior at Greeley (Colo.) West High School, just 31 miles southeast of the CSU campus, garnered Denver Post All-Colorado honors, given to the state's top players by position regardless of classification, as a senior in 2009...Helped GWHS to a second straight Northern Conference title as a senior offensive tackle, blocking for a 1,797-yard rusher as the Spartans spent much of that season ranked No. 1 in the Class 4A polls, before falling to Wheat Ridge in the state playoffs...A year earlier, when Wheat Ridge denied Greeley West in the state championship game at Invesco Field, earned his first of two consecutive all-state selections... A two-way starter for three years, also lined up at nose guard on defense, earning all-state recognition as both an offensive tackle and defensive lineman in 2008 and 2009, in addition to all-conference honors at both positions...Additionally received the Tyler MacKenzie Memorial Award, given to the athlete that best demonstrates the attributes of the U.S. Army soldier, a former West football player, killed in Iraq...
