•Attended Charlotte (N.C.) Christian School, earning three varsity letters while a member of the Knights football team.
•In 2012, as a senior, racked up 70 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, six sacks and 11 QB hurries.
•As a co-captain, led a dominant Knights defense that only allowed 13.5 points per game as they went undefeated in conference to take home the NCISAA hardware.
•Charlotte Christian won the 2012 North Carolina state championship with a 24-21 victory over the Providence Day Chargers.
•Earned all-conference and All-North Carolina honors, as well as being named first-team All-Mecklenburg County, and second-team All-Observer.
•Named to the 2012 NCISAA Shrine Bowl team, representing the state of North Carolina in the Oasis All-Star Shrine Classic Game.
•Earned Drive Stopper of the Week honors by WSOC-TV and PowerAde Performance Player of the Week by his high school.
•As a junior, recorded 49 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble.
•After a 5-5 season, named Defensive Lineman of the Year by the coaching staff.
•Head football coach was Jason Estep.
•Also played basketball and lacrosse in high school.
