Tim Miles, men's basketball signs Jesse Carr to National Letter of Intent
Nov. 14, 2007
FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Jesse Carr, a 6-foot-2 guard and a McDonald's All-America nominee, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at Colorado State, Head Coach Tim Miles announced Wednesday. "I am excited to add Jesse Carr to our program for a lot of reasons," Miles said. "I believe in his ability, I believe in him as a person, and when you look at his success, people know we are getting a bonafide winner." Carr, who averages approximately 30 points and 10 assists at Ainsworth (Neb.) High School, helped his team to the Nebraska state championship last season. In 2005, he recorded 68 points in a game, at the time the fourth-most ever scored by a Nebraska prep player.
"Jesse is a young guy who can play point guard but also has the ability to play the two guard," Miles said. "In our style of basketball, I think he will flourish. "Throughout the recruiting process we have met his family and seen the positive influence they have on him. Also during the process we have met his coaches Brian Delimont and Harlin Welch. They do an excellent job preparing Jesse. They will contend for another Nebraska state title." Carr also has lettered in track as a high jumper.
