J.J. Avila and the Rams unveiled a gold alternate jersey in 2013-14.
Feb. 4, 2014
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State men’s basketball team announced Tuesday afternoon a time change for the team’s Feb. 18 matchup vs. Boise State , and several special promotional dates that will take the Rams through the end of the 2013-14 regular season.
Due to the popularity of the team’s new gold alternate jerseys unveiled earlier this season, the Rams will host a “Gold Out” of Moby Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 11 when the squad matches up against Mountain West newcomer Utah State. Tipoff vs. the Aggies is set for 7:15 p.m. MT and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network. Fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game.
The following Tuesday, Feb. 18, the Rams welcome Boise State to Moby. The game time for the tilt between the Rams and the Broncos has been moved up 2 hours, and will now tip at 7 p.m. MT, to accommodate an exclusive broadcast on ESPN3.com. Fans are reminded that tomorrow night’s tilt vs. UNLV has also been shifted from a 9 p.m. MT start to a 7 p.m. MT tipoff, and will also be streamed exclusively on ESPN3.com.
In addition to the “Gold Out” vs. Utah State, the Rams host their fifth-annual “Orange Out” on Saturday, Feb. 22, against arch-rival Wyoming. The event pays tribute to the CSU’s heritage as the Colorado A&M Aggies, and the team and fans will don the program’s original colors of “pumpkin” orange and “alfalfa” green. CSU is 4-0 in “Orange Out” games entering this year’s matchup with Wyoming, having previously defeated the Cowboys in the 2010 and 2012 installments, and capturing victories over New Mexico and San Diego State in 2011 and 2013, respectively.
Feb. 22 will also mark CSU’s annual Ram Legends game, when the program welcomes back former players of all generations for a reunion and halftime recognition.
The Rams close out the 2013-14 home schedule with the team’s second-annual “Green Out” for Senior Night at Moby Arena. This year, the Rams will bid farewell to two seniors Gerson Santo and Josh Morgan, who will each suit up for their final regular-season games at Moby. Tipoff for Senior Night is set for 7 p.m. MT vs. San José State. The game will stream for free on the Mountain West Network.
