Opening tip
The Colorado State men’s basketball team returns to Moby Arena, where they are 5-1 (1-0 MWC) on the season, to play host to the TCU Horned Frogs.   Saturday’s game which starts at 7:02 p.m. MT, will be broadcast live on The Mtn. CSU will play three of its next four games in Fort Collins.

About TCU
The Horned Frogs snapped their four-game losing streak on Wednesday with a convincing win over Wyoming, 78-60. The win improved the Frogs’ record to 10-8 overall, and 1-2 in MWC play, after suffering losses to San Diego State and UNLV, two of the MWC’s powerhouse teams. As a team, TCU leads its opponents in every significant category except for blocks, including points scored, field-goal, three-point and free-throw percentage, rebounds, assists, steals and fewer turnovers.

The Frogs are led by junior guard Ronnie Moss, who is the team leader in points per game (15.2) and minutes played (31.4). The Frogs lineup also includes Garlon Green (12.1 points), a sophomore, and junior Hank Thorns (9.0 ppg.). Thorns leads the team in steals and assists, while Green leads the team and MWC in three-point shooting (51.8 percent). Junior guard J.R. Cadot shoots 67 percent from the floor and adds a team-best 6.3 rebound per game. Cadot, from Nassau, Bahamas, is one of five international players on TCU’s roster.

Head coach Jim Christian is in his third season at TCU, where he has amassed a 37-44 record.  Overall, in nine seasons as a head coach, Christian is 175-102.

The series vs. the Horned Frogs
The series between these two teams spans just 17 games. Eleven of the games have come since TCU joined the MWC in 2005-06. Prior to that, the Rams were just 1-5 against their foes from Fort Worth. After a loss in their initial game as MWC opponents, the Rams rattled off four consecutive wins over the Horned Frogs, and have won 6 of the last 10 in the series. CSU has also won two straight against the Horned Frogs at Moby Arena, and four of five  in the building since 2005-06. TCU won the last meeting, 73-67, last February in Fort Worth, and leads the overall series 10-7.  CSU is 5-3 against TCU all-time at Moby Arena.

Looking ahead
The Rams hit the road again Wednesday, heading to Las Vegas, Nev., for a matchup against the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels.  CSU is looking for their its first road win over the Rebels since the championship game of the 2003 MWC tournament. Tip is set for Jan. 19 at 8:30 p.m. MT.  The game will be televised live on The Mtn.
