Game notes - Rams visit TCU Saturday

Complete Release in PDF Format MATCHUP QUICKFACTS The Rams will open Mountain West conference play at TCU on Saturday. After going winless in conference play during the regular season last year, the Rams knocked off Wyoming in the opening game of the conference tournament in Las Vegas. CSU is coming off a second-place finish in the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic. CSU posted wins over Hawaii and Vermont to advance to the championship game. In the tournament final, the Rams fell 67-53 to Buffalo. Senior guard Marcus Walker was named to the Rainbow Classic all-tournament team after averaging 18.0 points per game. He ranks fifth in the conference in scoring at 16.3 points per game. Sophomore forward Andre McFarland has connected on .500 (29-58) of his three-point attempts this season. He ranks tied for first in the MWC in three-point percentage. Junior guard Adam Nigon has shot .900 (9-10) from the field in his last four games and has averaged 5.8 points per game in those outings. Follwing Saturday’s game at TCU, the Rams will return to Moby Arena on Jan. 10 against BYU. It will mark the Rams’ first home game since Dec. 14. ABOUT TCU The Horned Frogs, picked to finish last in the MWC during the 2008-09 season, are off to an 8-5 start this season. First-year Head Coach Jim Christian has led TCU to a 6-1 record at home, including a 62-37 win over Colgate on Tuesday. SERIES HISTORY The Rams and Horned Frogs will be meeting for the 14th time.
