2007-2008 (FRESHMAN)
As a freshman, played in all 32 games, and started 19 of them...Played double-digits in all but one game, averaging 20.5 minutes per game... Had a season high in minutes at TCU (2/20) with 31... Scored a career high in points against Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 13...Scored in double figures four times...Led all Rams with most free throw attempts in a game during the season with 12 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (11/28)... In the final regular-season game against New Mexico (3/8), was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line...Recorded three steals against BYU (2/13)...Had three or more assists eight times, including five on two occasions...Made five of seven free throws in the final 3 minutes of the game against Denver to seal the win... Averaged 5.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game...In the final seven games, averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds.

Averaged 30 points a game to go along with 11 rebounds in his freshman season for Keystone High School in Houston, Texas, and was coached by his father...Was named second-team all-state as well as bringing home first-team all-district, all-area, all-region, and all-metro honors as a freshman at Keystone...After transferring to Kingwood High School, also in Houston, won a state championship and guided the team to a 37-4 record during his sophomore season... Ended up at Westfield High School (Houston) for his junior and senior years...Averaged 15 points and seven rebounds for the Mustangs his senior campaign...Also led Westfield to a 36-1 record and a No. 2 ranking in the USA Today high school basketball rankings during the 2005-06 season...Was named to first-team all-district, all-region and all-metro with the Mustangs...Had a career high with 47 points, including seven three-pointers, vs. Regents his freshman year at Keystone...Was named MVP of the Greater Houston All-Star Game... Participated in the Adidas Superstar camp in 2005... Finished high school with a 3.7 GPA.

Born July 15, 1988, in East Chicago, Ind...Son of Sulema Gordon and Ben Simmons...Has a brother, Christopher Simmons (17), and two sisters, Bethany Tenner (18) and Mia Simmons (13)...Majoring in business management...Related to retired NBA all-star Terry Cummings and former UCLA forward and current NBDL player T.J. Cummings...Lists favorite midnight snack as goldfish crackers and Gatorade, and favorite actress as Halle Berry.
