FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The Colorado State men's cross country team continues to be recognized for its stellar season under second-year Head Coach Art Siemers. The Rams enter Week 7, championship week, ranked No. 27 in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Coaches' Poll.

Running with some of the top talent in the nation, Colorado State placed sixth in the NCAA Mountain Regional on Friday. The top two finishers, Northern Arizona and Colorado, each automatically qualified for nationals, but the region was also awarded four at-large berths. The Rams were the 27th school, in a 31-team field, to get in.

This is the fifth consecutive week the Rams have appeared in the top 30 poll, which is the longest streak since 2004, when CSU was ranked for the full duration of the season. That year, the team finished 29th in the championship race.

Nationals will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., Saturday. The men's 10-kilometer race will begin at 10 a.m. MT.
