FORT COLLINS, Colo. - After a short break, the Rams look to stretch their legs at Pre-Nationals in Terra Haute, Ind., on Oct. 19. This will be the last meet for the women before the Mountain West Cross Country Championships on Nov. 1.
The women will compete against 86 teams in a 6,000-meter race. Kaitlin Hanenburg, Whitney Henderson, Alex Hess, Sanne Holland, Chloe Phillips, Marina Roberts and Karlee Schwartzkopf will be competing for CSU, seeking a spot in the NCAA Mountain Regional on Nov. 15.
"Our women's team has really turned a corner in our strength level this week, and we look forward to competing against some of the top teams in the country at Saturday's Pre-National Invitational," head coach Art Seimers expressed.
The men's team pre-qualified for the championship after they placed second at the Roy Griak meet Sept. 28, so they are able to sit-out the meet.
"Our men will be training hard in Fort Collins this weekend as we prepare for the Mountain West Conference Championships hosted by the Air Force Academy on Nov. 1," Coach Siemers added.
