COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Nicole Peters has dominated every meet; having placed in the first three positions all season. The Mountain West rewarded her Tuesday by naming her the women’s cross country Athlete of the Week.
Peters, a senior from Houston, Texas, completed the course at the Roy Griak Invitational with a career-best time (21 minutes, 8 seconds). She finished 16th overall, leading the Rams to a 13th-place finish at the 26-team event. Peters was the first to cross the finish line among MW athletes.
This is the first time Peters has received this honor.
A natural resources management major, she owns a 3.842 cumulative grade-point average.
The Rams compete next at Pre-Nationals on Oct. 16, in Terre Haute, Ind.
