MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—The Colorado State men’s and women’s cross country teams held their own Saturday at the 26th running of the Roy Griak Invitational.

Spenser Lynass finished 47th overall (25 minutes, 2 seconds) in the 8,000-kilometer race. Followed closely behind by Christian Meyer (25:05) and Alex Muntefering  (25:27).

“The men ran solid today,” said Head Coach Bryan Berryhill. “We need a few more of our athletes to get healthy and move our number five player up though.”

The women’s team also completed the race strong with Nicole Peters finishing 16th overall (21:08) in the 6,000-kilometer race. Ellie Keyser (21:29) finished closely behind followed by Hannah Pensack-Rinehart (21:54).

“The women’s team had a good day,” said Berryhill. “The top three were amazing, but we still need the fourth and fifth athletes to step up.”

The Rams compete next at the Pre-Nationals Oct. 16 in Terre Haute, Ind.
