FORT COLLINS, Colo. - On Tuesday Colorado State’s track and field and cross country teams added two student-athletes. Head Coach Brian Bedard made the announcement Tuesday.

Josephine Bush, a product of Telluride High School, will be on the CSU track and field squad and Jennifer Tavé, a transfer from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, will be running cross country for the Rams.

Bush put together an impressive resume while running for the Miners. She holds school records in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 4x200, 4x400, and the sprint medley. Bush won the Colorado state meet in the 400 with a time of 57.83 and she placed second in the 800 when she posted a 2:18.01 time.

When she gets to Colorado State Bush will concentrate on being a middle distance runner.

“Josephine sprinted, jumped and played basketball at her high school,” said Bedard. “In recruiting we are always looking for athletes that compete in several events and different sports. This gives us a better idea of an athlete’s true talent levels.”

Tavé, who is originally from Saint Germain, France, will have one year of eligibility for the cross country team as he completes her graduate school work.

“Jennifer will help add some senior leadership and experience to our young women’s cross country team,” said Bedard.

The cross country season gets underway on Sunday, Sept. 2 as the Rams travel to Laramie, Wyo for the Wyoming Invitational.
