FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday that Colorado State's men's and women's cross country programs have been named 2012 USTFCCCA all-academic teams.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA all-academic team, the squad must have had a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

CSU's women's team ended the year with an overall GPA of 3.387, while the men's team finished with a 3.301 GPA.

This is the fifth time in six years that the women's team has received the honor for its exceptional work in the classroom. Wyoming was the only other member in the Mountain West to earn the award on the men's side, while Nevada and Wyoming joined CSU on the women's side.
