High School:Malia was a three-sport athlete at Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Wash., lettering in cross country, bowling and track. She captained the track and field team her senior season, was team MVP in her junior season, most improved in her sophomore season and rookie of the year her freshman season.

Personal:Malia was born May 6, 1991, to Doug and Melissa Carr in Portland, Ore. She has an older sister, Sera and a younger sister, Rose. She is majoring in equine science.
