NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Colorado State had both its men's and women's track & field squads along with 12 student-athletes named to the 2014 Division I men's and women's all-academic track & field teams, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced this week.
That number surpasses the seven CSU named to the list last year, and more than doubles the five the Rams posted in 2012. To qualify, a student-athlete must hold a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 and rank in the top 96 nationally in their event during the indoor campaign or participate in a regional during the outdoor season.
Five recent graduates highlight the list, including Seth Butler, who was honored for the second consecutive year. Kiah Hicks, who will be a senior this fall, was named to the list for her third straight season.
