Track and field recap: CSU's Brown advances to NCAA championships

By Chris Feller AUSTIN, Texas – Trevor Brown advanced to the NCAA championships Saturday, after finishing the 110-meter hurdles in 13.77 seconds at the NCAA West regional in Austin, Texas. The sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colo., earned an 11th-place finish in the event. He will compete June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa at the NCAA championships. Kelby Dias took 27th in the event, clocking in at 14.38. Jenna Sliwinski led the Rams in the hammer throw, placing 23rd, with a toss of 191 feet, 4 inches. Kiah Hicks (190-7) and Kenisha Throughsingh (175-9) finished 26th and 42nd, respectively. Nicole Peters placed 26th in the 5,000-meter run, finishing in 17:07.62. Peters advanced to the NCAA championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday. In the women’s triple jump, Meaghann Peak posted a mark of 38-9.75, finishing in 44th.
